We do our best to offer the most convenient flat shipping rates and all our packages are sent via USPS Priority Mail.
Please note that in the majority of cases, transit time is between 2 to 3 business days, however IT IS NOT a guaranteed service.
We ship, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday so please keep this in mind when ordering.
Due to regulatory restrictions, we cannot ship to California, Washington and Oregon.
*Some shrinkage is to be expected during shipment so additional chestnuts are added to each order.
Chestnuts are perishable and we do not accept returns.
All of our chestnuts undergo quality control inspections and they are fresh when they leave our farm.
Chestnuts will remain fresh during transit time, however upon delivery of your order, please inspect your chestnuts carefully and keep them refrigerated. Please contact us with any possible question or concern as we will work hard to ensure your satisfaction!

This is my second year purchasing seed chestnuts last year I had 54 out of the 56 nuts germinated for a 96% germination rate and 42 of the 56 nuts grew into trees for 75% success rate some of the trees reached 25 inches tall grew them in rootmaker trays will plant in spring. This is my second year purchasing these seed chestnuts from Chestnut Ridge. These seeds are hand chosen by the man in charge over there by the name of Dale. I have talked with him a few times when I thought I was in trouble growing my first set of trees. He is very helpful and knows chestnuts!!!! I stratified 90 seeds last year and have 88 of the 90 in 5 gallon pots up to 24″ tall right now. Will plant all of them in the spring. These seeds are AWESOME!!!!!!

I purchased 10 pounds of chestnuts last October for wildlife food plots. Some of the nuts were sown directly in the ground and I estimate 75% of these grew. I also stratified 200 chestnuts in dampened peat moss and refrigerated them until May, when I planted them in one gallon pots. Germination rate for these was 97%, and they are now ready for transfer to their permanent location. They are about 18 inches tall after 1 season of growth.

I have been purchasing seed chestnuts every year since 2012. I start the chestnuts out in damp peat moss in the refrigerator. Once they start to put out a root I plant them in the ground and use a 5 ft Plantra tree protector. I have had trees grow in excess of 5 feet in a single growing season and hit as high as 11 feet the following year. This year I had a few trees produce chestnuts just 4 years after they were a chestnut on a tree themselves. I know of no other hard mast that can reproduce itself in 4 years. Keep competing grass away from your seedlings with either mulch or weed mats and once that taproot hits good moisture stand by for unbelievable growth. I am certainly glad I found Chestnut Ridge and I will continue to be a customer.

Planted 109 ( 2 pounds ) ” Chestnut seeds for planting ” last year. I had a germination rate of 94.5 % and grew 103 trees to 24-36 inches before May. Great seeds and great producer. Fast service. Order early !!!
